The ME

Dying to Stay Young

A Dark Comedy

Written by Bill Gallagher

Directed by Jacquie Crago

What starts when time stops?

A woman who will do anything to stay young meets a scientist who carries the perfect solution in her pocket.  Four uncanny characters collide in a world in which age equals irrelevance.  The ME is a performance of fantastical realism that questions contemporary femininity and the ethical boundaries of science.

PRAISE for The ME

"The Sun Apparatus Theatre Company performed with such confidence and skill, engulfing me in the surreal world of their play..."

“Etgar's performance is layered and fabulous."

"Kenney’s faux smiles are some of the scariest things in the play, and some of the most brilliant."

"Their movements were like clockwork, which demonstrates the performers’ talented timing, but also foreshadows the regression into absurdism which is fated for the characters later."

North East Theatre Guide ☆☆☆☆

"It’s a dizzying, funny and frankly bizarre story that often touches on the profound."

"The four performers of The ME are super: four women with a penchant for making the surreal real, for delivering comedy with a precision."

"Vince gives a particularly strong performance as Mrs Zanzinger, treading the thin line between hilarious and tragic with utter believability."
